Nuchal Translucency Scan  - £100

The Nuchal Translucency Scan is carried out between 11 weeks and 3 days to 13 weeks and 6 days. This scan screens for Down’s syndrome and other chromosomal abnormalities. This is completed by measuring the thickness of the fluid space at the back of the baby's neck and combining it with the maternal age, and the length of the foetus. These measurements are computed to give a risk factor for Down's syndrome, Edwards and Patau's.Around 80% of Down's syndrome affected babies are detected with this test. If the risk is high, you may decide after discussion with your Midwife & Consultant to have the Harmony Test or invasive testing (Amniocentesis or CVS). This gives you a definitive answer. The scan also lets you see the following:Demonstrates the baby's heartbeatDetermines gestational age and due dateDiagnoses multiple pregnancy and determine if identical or notDiagnoses some major foetal abnormalities

Combined Nuchal Translucency and Biochemistry Scan -£130

The Nuchal Translucency and Biochemistry Scan is carried out between 11 weeks and 3 days to 13 weeks and 6 days. Similar to the Early anomaly scan, this procedure also screens for Down’s syndrome and other chromosomal abnormalities with an increased detection rate. This is completed by measuring the thickness of the fluid space at the back of the baby's neck and combining it with two factors from maternal blood, the maternal age, and the length of the foetus. These measurements are computed to give a risk factor for Down's syndrome, Edwards and Patau's
Around 90% of Down's syndrome affected babies are detected with this test. If the risk is high, you may decide after discussion with your Midwife & Consultant to have ito have Harmony Test or invasive testing (Amniocentesis or CVS). This gives you a definitive answer. The scan also lets you see the following:
