 Gynaecology Ultrasound Services

Pelvic Scan - £100

This scan enables us to obtain detailed images of the pelvic organs. These include the uterus, endometrium, cervix, and ovaries, including examining with Colour Doppler blood flow. The scan is done abdominally and/or vaginally.

This scan is useful in investigating the following:

  • Lower Abdominal Pain and Bleeding
  • Endometriosis
  • Pelvic Masses – These Include Fibroids, Ovarian Masses, and Cysts
  • Location of IUCD's (Intrauterine Contraceptive Devices)
  • Irregular bleeding and Post-Menopausal Bleeding.
  • Amenorrhoea and Infertility
  • Ovarian Cancer
  • Endometrial Polyps

Ovarian Follicle Tracking - £80

The ovarian follicle scanning service that we offer is completed in both natural and stimulated cycles as part infertility treatment. It shows how the ovaries are functioning, with or without artificial simulation. (Fertility Drugs) The scan allows us to track the development of the follicles in the ovary over several days to predict the timing of ovulation and assess the endometrial thickness (womb lining)  to see if there is adequate thickening for embryo implantation. We can then advise you on the optimal time for conception.

For ladies seeking infertility treatment abroad we are happy to meet the requirements of your Clinic.

Ovarian Screening Including Endometrial Assessment - £100

With a combination of high frequency ultrasound and colour doppler we can image the ovaries and endometrium giving a detailed assessment . This enables us to see the size and texture of your ovaries and any cysts or masses/swellings to enable us to pick up ovarian cancer or other ovarian problems.

With internal scanning we get detailed view of the womb, enabling us to assess for endometrial and uterine cancer.

Ovarian cancer is the 5th most common cancer among women. It is more common amongst post menopausal women, although it can affect younger women. It is often only diagnosed in the later stages, as the symptoms are non-specific. With the help of ultrasound it can be picked up at an earlier stage.

We recommend annual scans.
